Salman Khan has already shot for the ‘weekend ka vaar’ episode for this week’s Bigg Boss. When it comes to celebrating Diwali as a festival, Bigg Boss house and the contestants are no different. We earlier told you about how are Indiawaale and celebrities are celebrating this festival inside the house. This new house is decorated quite beautifully. And this huge rangoli with Happy Diwali written on it was just adding to it’s beauty. This was just the beginning. The contestants had a fun time while completing the real task given to them. The masti started when Bigg Boss informed the contestants about the fun task. The contestants had to click their best Selfies. They were paired up and the task had to be done with their partner against the walls specially created for the purpose. Every jodi had been assigned with one wall. So when the contestants are celebrating Diwali inside the house, how can the host Salman Khan be indifferent to all this. The actor while shooting for the elimination episode ditched his usual formal attire and instead opted for something traditional. You won’t see the Dabangg star looking dapper in a suit in tonight’s episode. Instead he will be wearing a white embroidered pathani to go with the occasion. And from the pics below, you can very well assume how hot he is looking in it. It was a good change to see him in something traditional as for a moment he reminded us of  his Prem Ratan Dhan Payodays . From the pics that we can see, we can also assume that he will be performing a small act on stage. Which song? Earlier we spoke about how Salman Khan asked every contestant to nominate one Khalnayak from the house. After Priyanka Jagga getting eliminated we wanted to see who has taken her position and as expected, the name that emerged was Navin Prakash. The actor did have some fun with the contestants as he personally requests them all to never nominate Swami Om ji for eliminations for bringing the fun in house.

A lot of drama continues at the Bigg Boss 10 house but the weekends are the ones where all the drama elevates to a totally new level. Well, it’s all courtesy Salman Khan, the host! Being a weekend and Diwali, the Bigg Boss house too have been lit up for festivities. However, it is Om Swamiji lit up Mr Khan! The Bigg Boss 10 handle on Twitter shared a rather funny sneak peek of what’s to happen inside the house this week. We found something extremely LOL-worthy that didn’t spare to tickle Salman’s funnybones as well. The actor was caught laughing, like literally laughing out loud which we’ll be seeing in tonight’s episode. And while Swamiji made Khan LOL, he also found his ticket to having immunity towards not being voted out!

In the sneak peek shared by Bigg Boss, we see a happy Swamiji singing the song, Yeh Mera Dil from Don movie and even dancing a bit to it. Yeah, for a second those satsangs with gurus happily dancing did hit my head as well but the picture was soon wiped out because of the track Omji chose. However, this bit seems to have impressed the Tubelight actor a lot! He went pink with laughter. Basically, Swamiji’s humour (not intentional humour) seems to have become Khan’s fancy. He actually told the house contestants never to nominate him! He said, ” Toh Bhai log meri ek baat sun lo, Omji ko kabhi bhi nominate mat karna!” And the laughter continued. The last time we saw him laugh so hard was during Sultan’s promotions. He was on The Kapil Sharma Show, along with his co-star and the cast humoured him so well that he couldn’t stop guffawing! For this week, Manoj Punjabi, Gaurav Chopra, Antara Biswas (also known as Mona Lisa), Akansha Sharma, Rohan Mehra, Manveer Gurjar and Nitibha Kaul have been nominated. While our poll resulted directed towards Manoj Punjabi to say goodbye to the show and leave. But the results will be sooner or later. Who do you think should go out? Shivaay movie review: Ajay Devgn’s directorial is all about its stunning visuals and breath taking action scenes Ajay Devgn's dream project Shivaay has probably the best stunning visuals we have seen since a long time. Like the actor has always said, emotion is the real action of his movie.

The wait is finally over and one of the most awaited movie of this year has finally hit the screens. Ajay Devgn’s Shivaay grabbed the headlines for a couple of reasons. Firstly since the actor was directing his dream project himself and secondly for it’s breathtaking visuals and high octane action sequences. We knew action was always his forte but with Shivaay he has taken this notch a bit higher. While a lot has been predicted about the movie’s plot, it’s core stays the bond between father- daughter relationship. So how’s the movie? Will it prove a tough competitor for Karan Johar’s Ae Dil Hai Mushkil? Read on to find out…

What’s it about
Ajay Devgn’s directorial return Shivaay is the story of a man trying to right many wrongs. Set against the backdrop of the icy mountains, Shivaay (Ajay) is living what seems like an ordinary life – helping the army in lost and found missions, trekking with tourists and flirting with foreign belles, one in particular – Olga (Erika Kaar). Shivaay and Olga’s love story happens so quickly that before you start digging into your popcorn they have a child – a daughter named Gaura (Abigail) who might be a mute but her expressions and over enthusiastic antics compensate for her lack of speech. Shivaay’s world turns upside down when Gaura discovers a letter left by Olga describing how she abandoned her daughter after birth. Their journey to find Olga takes the father- daughter duo to the scenic locales of Bulgaria where most of the film takes place. Ajay throws in a child trafficking subplot that serves as a catalyst to play out one of the longest drawn climaxes of 2016. There is no villain, rather there are masked men who Shivaay has to fight to reach to the one who is responsible for his daughters kidnapping. Shot on a lavish scale with high octane stunt scenes Shivaay works because of its emotional connect with the audience. .

What’s hot
Ajay Devgn fans won’t be disappointed. You have a bare chested Ajay lying bareback on the snow capped mountains opens the film,  making it clear that there will be a lot of Ajay Devgn in every frame. And it isn’t really a bad thing. For someone whose forte is action, Devgn has come a long way from making an entry standing with his two feet on moving bikes to thrusting deadly icicles in his villains torso. Aseem Bajaj who helms the cinematography departments makes sure the film looks big and every frame even when there are no mountains is full of drama and colour. Ajay’s take on the father-daughter relationship works because he manages to cast the right child actor to play his daughter. Abigail who plays Gaura is not only a natural but also immensely likeable without being annoying. Her scenes with Ajay are some of the best moments of the film. Among the action scenes the ones that’s stand out is the big car chase sequence in the first half and the climax where the icy terrain provides the right landscape for building some intense fight scenes. Vir Das provides the much needed comic relief and is a delight to watch. Erika is earnest but her accent seems forced and weak. The title track is super catchy and used at the right moments throughout the film.

What’s not
As an actor you can’t really help it if your director treats every scene like it’s an extended showreel. But hold on! Ajay directs and acts in Shivaay and that perhaps is the biggest flaw of the film. There are moments when you can see him struggle in a scene only because he’s wondering if the people around him are getting it right. There is that feeling of filing in and compensating for the rest of the crew.  But a man can only do that much, and had Ajay decided to just act and blow us away  with his action and emotional moments , Shivaay would be a different experience. The lengthy scenes and the second half that endlessly drags its feet are a true test of your patience. Shivaay could have easily been a shorter film with a more gripping narrative had the editing been a bit more stricter.

What to do:

Shivaay has  spectacular action scenes, perhaps the best we have seen this year. Watch it for that and the emotional storyline of a father-daughter relationship.

Shah Rukh Khan’s Don 3 first look to be out soon? Ritesh Sidhwani just shared a cryptic post on Instagram regarding Shah Rukh Khan's Don 3.

Shah Rukh Khan, you’re a big TEASE, do you know that? There’s always so much mystery around every post of yours or what’s gonna happen next in terms of your films that we have to wait in anticipation till an official announcement is made. That’s not fair, you know. We’re inquisitive souls who crave to know what’s happening with you and what’s to happen next with you. Call us a stalker but we’re just being honest about it. Anyway, so you might be wondering what’s with this sudden accusation of killing us in anticipation. Well, you got producer Ritesh Sidhwani and partially SRK to blame for this. We’ve all literally been dying to know what’s to happen next with Don franchise’s third part. We already know that the film is going to be happening as all, Farhan, Ritesh and even Shah Rukh himself have assured us of the same.

What’s now the question of interest is why the sudden mention of the film. In a cryptic post shared by the producer on his Instagram, it stated, “#15yearsofexcel the most #cool #suave #sexycriminal loved by everyone #don #franchisefilm #don3 Hmmmm #staytuned” What does that mean now, Ritesh? Is the look of SRK from the film going to be out? You see we are asking that as the probability of the same is very high. He is finally done filming Imtiaz Ali’s The Ring and has returned to Mumbai. Before you all start clamouring up to us, let us bring this to your notice of the vast number of probabilities that could happen regarding Don 3. Firstly, his look could be revealed as he is right here in Mumbai and might start trying new looks to finalise one. He might start shooting the same. Ritesh and Farhan might announce who the female lead of Don 3 will be, finally! Once again, its not just his post but the actor’s as well. At precisely the same time when Ritesh shared this post, Shah Rukh too shared that he’ll be holding a Facebook Live with a pic of him from Dear Zindagi. While initially we thought the live would have more to do with another quirky way of announcing something related to the Alia Bhatt starrer. They’ve been making announcements and releasing teasers and posters in a very social-media-friendly way. Perhaps we’re just thinking way too much. But this coincidence is something we cannot just brush off. Chances are that he might speak about Don 3 or he might totally ignore it and keep it for later. Maybe he’ll announce who the female lead is of the film. That question has been bugging us for a long time now. There were reports that Priyanka Chopra might not be a part of the third film. However, neither parties confirmed or denied the news so its still kept us hanging. One more thing before we sign out is the fact that both Dear Zindagi and Don 3 is being produced by the same banner i.e. Excel Productions. Well last night Jacqueline was captured partying with Salman. The actress was present at Salman’s brother-in-law Aayush Sharma’s birthday bash. However it was a pleasant surprise to see Jacky at the party. Seeing the Roy actress bond with Salman only added fuel to the rumors of them working together in Kick 2. Right guys?

Everyone at the party looked fab ,but Salman and Jacqueline were the highlight of the bash. The paparazzi too focused on capturing them. Khan looked handsome as always in his Being Human t-shirt and denims. While Jacky failed to impress us with her outing, she wore a purple satin jumpsuit which looked a bit off.

Fashion expert Manish Mishra told BollywoodLife, “It’s a beautiful Anamika Khanna outfit with her signature draping and embellishments. Katrina is in excellent shape and complements it beautifully. I think it’s not photographed well while she’s walking so it may not appear very flattering but it’s a great festive pick.” You can see that the drapes fell on the sides of the actress. Originally, as shared by her stylist, Tanya Ghavri, we can see that a lot of other elements of the outing have been covered by the drapes. In her post, you can see that it’s a skirt and a blouse with an additional layering done to make the look more festive and bright. You gotta admit that she does stand out.

As we all know that Ranbir is gearing up for his next – Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. And the ADHMfever has taken over the country! From the movie posters to the teaser and the songs; everything about Ae Dil Hai Mushkil has been much hyped. Ranbir and Aishwarya’s onscreen chemistry to top it all, is the most enticing! This is the umpteenth time that we are saying that they look DAMN hot together.. Seeing them onscreen only makes us question why didn’t any filmmaker think of casting them opposite each other before!

Coming back to Ranbir, ADHM is an important film for him as long as box office numbers are concerned. He has desperately needed a comeback and from what it looks like Karan Johar’s ADHM could be the one! We asked our trade expert and Editor, Super Cinema, Amul Mohan if he thinks that this could be THE film that would help Ranbir’s career graph to shoot up and he said, “Ae Dil Hai Mushkil is definitely going to be Ranbir’s comeback film. He has delivered an exceptional performance in his previous movies but they didn’t do seemingly well at the ticket window. Now that’s a huge statement to make until the film releases but all eyes are now on Ranbir. And of course Ash too, considering that her last movies Sarabjit and Jazbaa didn’t make much noise at the box office. ADHM is going to decide her and Ranbir’s fate as far as numbers are concerned. The film will be releasing with Ajay Devgn’s Shivaay on October 28.

Kaabil trailer: Hrithik Roshan and Yami Gautam’s romance turns dark within a minute leaving us stunned Kaabil trailer is out. The film features Hrithik Roshan and Yami Gautam in the lead roles.

We knew for a fact that Hrithik Roshan’s upcoming film Kaabil is an intense thriller. But the first half of the trailer of the film almost had us think otherwise. Yep! The first trailer of the film just dropped and in IT IS AWESOME. The first half of the trailer is musical, and focuses on the romance of Hrithik and Yami Gautam. Both of them play blind characters in the film. They have a meet, fall in love and get married – all the while taking you along in their romantic journey. This almost painted the picture for a romance saga, but wait for it, and the trailer soon turns intense and thrilling.

Yami’s character gets attacked in the film, and from what it seems the accused behind the heinous act is Ronit Roy, who is playing a big shot. Hrithik’s character, Rohan Bhatnagar, goes all out to seek revenge on the perpetrators of the crime, after being denied justice. The trailer goes all Ghajini, Aankhein and Daredevil, all at once, and is just so thrilling. Yep the trailer turns unimaginably dark and keeps you at the edge of your seat. Not much action scenes or how the rest of the film pans out has been revealed in the trailer, and we are not complaining. We are so ecstatic with everything being given away in the trailer itself. A couple of action sequences that play out in the trailer look gritty and manage to thrill.

The film has been directed by Sanjay Gupta and from what it seems, he has done a commendable job. Thankfully in Kaabil, he has not touched the trademark tint that he paints his movies with usually. Remember the green tint in Jazbaa?

Hrithik and Yami’s chemistry looks refreshing and the two are certainly to gain a strong fan base for their jodi. Yami’s character though is once again the woman whose misery sets the course of the film into action, like in Badlapur and Action Jackson.

Kaabil is all set to release on January 26, 2017.

Mirzya movie review: Harshvardhan Kapoor and Saiyami Kher’s performances and beautiful frames stand out in this bland love story Harshvardhan Kapoor and Saiyami Kher's Mirzya is a visual masterpiece, but one only hoped it had a narrative that promised an equally brilliant premise.

There have been legendary love stories of Laila Majnu, Heer Ranjha, Romeo and Juliet brought to life on screen by filmmakers all across the world. Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra tries his hand at telling the mystical love story of Mirza- Sahiban through the eyes of contemporary lovers. Mirzya doesn’t have the nuts and bolts of a typical Bollywood film. It has the song and dance routine, but it’s done differently, there is very little chest thumping and dialogue baazi and no item song or gimmick to make the film appeal to a broader audience. The promos have been indicative of the texture and fabric of Mirzya. The songs and our interactions with the debutant actors Harshvardhan Kapoor and Saiyami Kher sounded really intriguing with the way they spoke about their magnum opus. But is Mirzya worth the hype?

What’s it about 

Mehra starts the film with a robust visual of men riding horses with their faces covered in black scarves. Our hero Mirzya (Harshavardhan) gets one of the most stylised introductory scenes in recent times. Saiyami Kher, standing under a tree surrounded by men guarding her, throws a glance at our hero as the sky lights up with fireballs and piercing arrows. Just when this vivid image lingers in your mind, Mehra cuts his frame to the modern day setting of Jodhpur where a young Suchitra and Monish begin their love story. Harshavardhan and Saiyami have two different looks throughout the film, defining the distinct worlds they belong to. Do they serve any purpose? Does the love story manage to hold our interest? And does the music, which has a very large part to play in this movie, make the experience melodious or jarring ? Let’s find out …

What’s hot

Mehra has gone for the kill as far as visuals are concerned. He doesn’t hold back in a single frame and lights the whole screen up with imagery and shades that are bold and extremely eye catchy. The way the camera just hovers over the sand dunes or the VFX laden Mirzya world are both equally fantastic. Mirzya could make for an excellent comic book if it wanted to use these story board graphics to tell the story in a different format. Leepakshi and Niharika who are responsible for creating these two distinct looks do a fantastic job in giving these characters the Colors and fabrics they require. Background score adds up to the drama at the right moments. Coming to the most important question – how good are the debutants? Honestly, they both deserved a better film to showcase their talents, but given the constraints of the technique and format, they do their best. Harshvardhan manages to stir your interest in his interpretation of Mirzya. It’s not so much the facial hair or the props but the yearning in his eyes to deliver and that hunger to give everything in every scene. He needs to work a lot on his screen presence and diction, perhaps a bit of body language as well, but despite the hiccups, his take on bringing his director’s vision alive is honest and sincere. Saiyami has unconventional looks and they work in her favour. Her scenes with Harshvardhan in the second half stand out. The fact that these two are newcomers gives their pairing an edge.

What’s not

Mehra’s biggest flaw in the film is his technique and narrative. The concept of two worlds, two parallel timelines, two different characters just doesn’t work. There are moments when you are drawn into the fantasy Mirzya world and want to stay there a bit longer, but a song or a background score comes out of nowhere taking you back into the real world. Neither here nor there, the film ends up being a case of too much flavour can sometimes spoil a good dish. Also Mehra doesn’t give Harshavardhan or Saiyami any big scene or moment to play up. Instead there are fleeting moments that have some spark. I can’t think of one big stand out scene in such a long film. The songs are great, but were they required at such regular intervals? The awkwardness between switching from one world to another finally gets to you and there is very little damage control that a director can do in his last 20 minutes. Mirzya despite being a hardcore love story doesn’t draw touch any emotional chord, because the emphasis is so much on the format and technical aspects that the writing takes a major backseat.

What to do 

Mirzya is a visual masterpiece, but one only hoped that it had a narrative that promised an equally brilliant premise. Watch it to usher in two newcomers Harshvardhan Kapoor and Saiyami Kher who fortunately have follow up films that hopefully do more justice to their skills.

So the special screening of Ae Dil Hai Mushkil has been attended by who’s who of Bollywood. And the film is receiving praises from all the celebs who have attended the preview. As per reports, one thing that has been constant among those who have watched is the fact that all of them are gushing over Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. Yes, irrespective of her role, reportedly, being not more than twenty minutes. She herself mentioned in an interview that it’s Anushka Sharma, Ranbir Kapoor and Fawad Khan’s film, but, viewers and audience think the otherwise.

Not Anushka Sharma, but it’s Aishwarya Rai Bachchan who’s bowled everyone over with her portrayal of Sabaa. The lead actress Anushka Sharma is mere prop in front of her, despite the length of her role being more than her. It’s Aishwarya’s character that stays with the viewers even after the film is over. To this, Miss Kapoor refuted them all and presented the actual reason. It was because of Kareena not getting an insurance because of her pregnant state that resulted in the delay of the shooting.
